  1. Nice to see some places 'off the beaten track'. The chocolate looks amazing and the chèvre chaud looks scrumptious too. I'm over next week and hope to try galettes.

    1. What region will you be in? I'm told that galettes and crêpes are best in the Brittany region, but you can find authentic ones sporadically in other areas

  2. I've been to the Jardin des Plantes numerous times as my university (Sorbonne Nouvelle) was pretty close and I had to walk by it every day to go to Austerlitz RER station, but i've never seen this "moorish" garden with the fountains. Or is it in the mosque? If you ever get around there again, don't miss the "arènes de Lutèce", Roman arena where students have lunch, sunbathe, play football and people play pétanque. For a moment you really don't feel you're in Paris when you see them! I used to sit there for lunch/sunbath too :-) (the arènes are between M10 Jussieu and M7 Place Monge metro stations). I had many galettes when i was in Paris, it was a cheap takeaway food for lunch, and even if far from Brittany, Paris crêpes/galettes are pretty good actually!

    1. The Moorish gardens are in the mosque - the center actually. They are clearly used to tourists and have a 3 Euro charge if you're not there to pray. I will look for the arènes de Lutèce next time - with the new high-speed line going in, it will take just an hour for me to get to Paris, so I imagine I will visit more often! Thanks for the tip!
